IFITT and Africa Shake Hands for Co-Prosperity with New Chapter!
IFITT is happy to announce the introduction of its Africa Chapter!
To carry out its vision of creating the global eTourism knowledge network and community, IFITT has expanded to 9 Chapters reaching the IT and travel & tourism communities in Australasia, Finland, Greece, Italy, Spain and Latin America, Switzerland, Turkey, North America, and, now, Africa.
The new chapter is represented by 81 members from Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Ghana, Cameron, Namibia, Congo, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Sudan, and Zambia. They include academics, students, and experts from public agencies and private companies of the travel and tourism industry.
Patience Tropo, who currently holds the position of Director of IFITT Chapters, was elected as the president of Africa Chapter. With her extensive experience and expertise in the industry, Ms. Tropo will lead the effort to develop a win-win relationship between IFITT and the African tourism community.
IFITT Chapters are established to promote the IFITT philosophy and its activities and programs at a country or regional level. Chapters receive support from IFITT in organizing, conducting and promoting their activities and initiatives.
If you think that it is time to consolidate IT and travel & tourism stakeholders in your region, please contact Ms. Patience Tropo (patience[email protected]) for more information. We look forward to welcoming IFITT chapter No. 10!
